Studying The Iris
Iridology is the study of the iris which tells us information about inherited traits of physical strengths and weaknesses in the entire body which may assist in determining the underlying cause of issues, as well as identifying where dietary and supplemental support may be needed most. Iridology is an ancient science that has been used for thousands of years by Egyptians, in ancient China and Greece as well as Mesopotamia which is now known as Iran, Iraq , Syria and Turkey. Back in the 1800's it was introduced in Europe and North America by Dr. von Peczely of Hungary who conducted a variety of experiments of his own to conclude the validity of signs in the iris correlating to physical traits and aspects of signs in the body. Iridology is actually far more accepted in other parts of the world than it is here in the United States, but it is now starting to become much more recognized for the wealth of information that can be obtained from it's practice than it once was.
HOW IS IT APPLIED?
In the simplest explanation, iridologist view the iris as a clock, with different "hours" corresponding to different parts of the body, and by observing specific markers within the iris we can glean information on the cellular and tissue health of particular organs, body systems and their functionality.

A Little Bit About Me
My name is Karyn Choate and I am the owner and founder of Natural Digestive Health Center. It is my ultimate goal to ensure that every aspect of your visit to the office is a positive and healing experience as well as an educational one. When you place your trust and confidence in me it is my priority to make sure that I fulfill and exceed your expectations. I hear so many stories of frustration and loss of hope, as well as just outright being ignored when asking for answers, so when I started Natural Digestive Health Center my purpose was to listen attentively to your needs and to provide natural solutions that will help you live the healthiest possible life.
HOW I BECAME INTERESTED
My interest in natural health began when I was pregnant with my first baby. My goal was to give my son the healthiest start possible, and it was then that I began to study nutrition, supplementation and physical health. I picked up all kinds of "habits" along the way such as running, one of my greatest passions to this day. I have always had an interest in nature, and gardening is one of my most cherished past times~ roses being my favorite!
In regards to studies, one door has opened the door to another and yet another beyond that for me! There is always more to learn and the possibilities are both endless and exciting.
Our bodies are fascinating and nothing short of amazing, especially when it comes to healing. When understanding the root cause we can give the body the environment that is most needed to allow healing to occur- such is the theme in every form of holistic medicine.
CONNECTING WITH NATURE IS VITAL TO THE HUMAN SPIRIT
Watching the birds is another part of nature that I love so I have adapted my backyard to attract everything from Flickers to Hummingbirds, and even a few Blue Jays that come for dinner when I call them! I don't think there is anything more soothing to the soul than to experience nature, whether it's in your own back yard or taking long walks down a nature path. It's also very important to always keep your sense of wonder and to never stop exploring, and nature never ceases to amaze!
